All George Blackwood Bits are made of 1/4 inch steel with beveled edges. We offer both the ball and pipe hinged cheek in a variety of styles. Our cheeks are connected to the mouthpiece with stainless steel rod to ensure durability for the rider. Our mouthpieces are all made of sweet iron with multiple copper inlays to help increase salivation for the horses comfort. George Blackwood bits are said to be functional with a good weight and balance.
